Jehovah Jireh…

…my provider!

when i got home after a very long day yesterday, the first response to my support letter was on the kitchen table.  it contained about 1/3 of the total support needed for both trips.

i am completely overwhelmed by such generosity.  i never could have imagined this.  going into this i knew that God could raise the money, but i figured it would be a slow process, that the support would trickle in over the next couple of months.  i figured God would be teaching me about patience and trust.

and then WHAM, God knocks my world upside down.  He wants to teach me about his providence!  He wants to show me His boundless love and grace in yet another very tangible way!  In the face of uncertainty and hesitation and maybe even a slight case of buyer’s remorse (or i guess sign-uper’s remorse), He blesses me and throws a huge chunk of money at my feet.

how is this possible?  who is this amazing God that i try so unsuccessfully to serve?  why me, with my divided heart and unbelievably short attention span?

Sing praise to the LORD, you His godly ones,
And give thanks to His holy name.
Psalm 30:4
