Student of the Week (2)

This one is a little different, because I’m not even sure if this kid is my student anymore.

I heard from one of the other teachers that a student of ours, Humberto, was jumped after school.  Apparently he was beat up pretty bad and one of the other students told her he was taken away in handcuffs.  She had also heard that he got 180 days of suspension (aka, expelled).  I’ve already had one student come back from a 180 after appealing to the Board (that’s another story), but I have no idea what will happen to Humberto.

He’s a very intelligent kid, but is a known gang member and has already been suspended numerous times this year.  He had finally been coming to school pretty consistently and was improving in both behavior and quality of work.  Please pray that God would be with him wherever he ends up.  Pray for freedom from a life full of violence and entrance into a life of peace and joy through relationship with Jesus.  I’ll try to keep you updated on details whenever I get them.
