Student of the Week (12)

Sorry I didn’t do a student of the week last week.  I totally forgot about it with all the fun and excitement of spring break  :)

This week’s student is Z.  He just transferred into Kingsbury last week (which is just awesome – new students the month before the End of Course test) and he’s awesome.  So far he comes in, gets right to work, and is actually participating in the group work.  Most of the groups in that class “work together” by working next to each other and then comparing or waiting for one person to do it and then copying.  Z actually helps the other students in his group understand what’s going on.  I listened to him lead one of my lowest students through how to identify the main idea of a paragraph and I almost cried!

Please pray that he would keep up the good work.  He has friends in class who could very easily distract him and pull him down.  Pray that it would go the other way around – that students would see his hard work and the benefits he gets from that and want to do the same.
